A. Clutter, disorganization, and even a messy schedule can cause us and our loved ones incredible stress. Even when we think we are ignoring the problem, it is always nagging at our subconscious and draining our valuable energy. Whether we are frequently late (because we are searching for what we need to take with us), snapping at our loved ones (over who is supposed to take care of what), or are simply exhausted from the mess, de-cluttering and organizing can bring peace back to our home and life. You may have already tried getting organized on your own and simply did not have the time or ability to get it done. As a professional organizer, I will walk you through the process, step by step, making a truly serene home not only a possibility, but a reality. My ultimate goal is to give you a home that serves you and helps you to reach your goals.
Q. What types of organization can you help me with?
A. We can help you organize any area of your home, including but not limited to, your kitchen, pantry, closets, laundry room, playroom, office, car and more. We can also assist you with the move-in/move-out process (creating an organized move; assisting with unpacking and organizing) preparing your home for sale, paperwork systems or going paperless, time management and schedules, chore systems, downsizing and senior re-locations and more.
Q. Can you help with my small business?
A. Absolutely! In addition to home organization, I've been helping clients make their businesses not only more organized, but more efficient and productive as well.
Q. How long does the organizing process take?
A. That depends on several factors including: the amount of space you would like organized, the amount of things in those spaces, your ability to make quick decisions and your available time, energy, budget and more. Our work sessions are either half day (up to 4 hours) or full day (up to 6 hours.) We try to be as flexible as possible for our clients and work within their desired time frame, budget and energy level. For some clients, this means going full force, nearly everyday for a week or more until everything is completed. For others, it may mean just one, half day appointment per week, slowly going through things over a few months time.
Q. Will I have to work with you through the process or can I just hire you to do it all?
A. This is entirely up to you. Depending on your available time and budget, you can choose to work along with me or simply direct what items stay or go and I will do the rest! However, it is vital that you participate in the initial, decluttering part of the process; otherwise, I may end up organizing what is just clutter, not something you or I want!
Q. Will I have to give up a lot of my belongings?
A. Ultimately, the decision of what to keep or what to let go of, is entirely yours. The success of getting and staying organized depends a lot on the size of your space and the amount of things it can actually hold. If you wish to have a serene home that functions well, you will want it filled only with those things that you truly love or need. I won't force you to let go of anything you don't want to, but I will guide you through making the decisions that will give you the home that you want.
Q. Will I have to buy a lot of new organizing products?
A. Only if you want to! I will do my best to re-purpose anything you have that can be used well in the space. For anything new that is needed, I will make the suggestion of what will help in the space, and you can decide if you wish to budget for those items. I will shop according to whatever budget or style you desire. I do not charge any markup on products; their cost is simply passed through to you for reimbursement.
Q. Will you protect my privacy?
A. Absolutely. Everything we discuss, as well as details of your home, it's contents, etc., will be kept completely confidential. I am happy to provide you with a signed confidentiality agreement if you so desire. That said, I must take before pictures to help me formulate a plan for your space, however, these are also kept confidential, unless you allow them to be part of my Before and After page after seeing the results!
